Spiritual Direction.
Should you have a Spiritual Director?
Read below to discern what kind of Guidance you are searching for. After reading all these descriptions, please fill out the form honestly. I will then read what you send me, lift it up in prayer to the Father. Give me time to then discern what the Holy Spirit is asking of me for you. It may take about a week or 10 days before I respond. Be patient, I need to pray.
Helps for the Spiritual Life.

Regular Confessor
Particularly useful for those who are struggling to overcome repeated, habitual, or addicted patterns of Mortal Sin.
A Regular Confessor, with Confession done according to a routine can help the penitent to discern what underlies the sin and seek healing and freedom from that sin.
Sometimes, this will lead to a full embrace of Spiritual Direction.

Spiritual Counsel
This is particularly helpful when there is a life decision coming soon, when there is an acute and temporary need.
Rather than being a relationship that is ongoing, Spiritual Council is for a time.
Are you discerning a major decision, are you suffering a loss, are you suffering an illness, or particularly bad news, or a tough situation?
This is probably for you. This is what most people think of when they think of Spiritual Direction. It is something that is temporary, but where help is needed to see clearly.

Spiritual Direction
The purpose of spiritual direction is to assist the individual person in discerning the working of God within the context of their life of prayer. It focuses on the basic relationship of a person with God. Together with the spiritual director the directee reflects upon their experience of God in their prayer with the intention of discerning what God is saying, doing, leading, and asking of the directee. The Director then leads the directee the response the directee offers to God.
This is about navigating a life of prayer. You need to already have a steady prayer life, or you should be prepared to start.
