New Prayer Books Available!

Advent begins next Sunday! Christmas is only five weeks from this Sunday! Are you ready? Don't worry, I am no where near ready either.

James 1:19-22, 25
Act on this word. If all you do is listen to it, you are deceiving yourselves. There is, on the other hand, the man who peers into freedom’s ideal law and abides by it. He is no forgetful listener, but one who carries out the law in practice. Blest will this man be in whatever he does.

A few week ago I preached the need for the people of the parish to do the work of the parish. I am so grateful to the people who have showed up since then and have worked hard to make the parish beautiful and kept our ministries vibrant.

The most important work of the parish is prayer. Learn to pray well! To help you with that, I have put together these new prayer books. Inside you will find basic prayers that are good to know, guides for 2 styles of Lectio Divina, a guide to pray a Holy Hour, selected Psalms, a couple of litanies, and more. The goal of these prayer books is to encourage you to learn to hear and recognize God’s voice in your life.

They will be available, for FREE for those who are in attendance at Mass.
Extra Copies are $5 each.
A copy for another person, someone not at Mass, are $5 each.
I will also ship them for an additional $5.

Also at Mass this weekend, I will be giving everyone a free copy of The Word Among Us, which will provide you with the daily readings for the Advent Season. Please pray well, pray deeply, allow Advent to be the slow, quiet, meditative season it is meant to be.

All money given offsets the cost of printing the books, additional Money is given to St John the Baptist, Magnolia Springs.
